Water Leak Alerts

Our mission is to prevent your home or business from having major water damage due to water leaks.

Our systems detect water leaks. If a leak is detected you are alerted immediately and optionally, the water is automatically shut off at the main water valve within seconds. This keeps a small problem… a small problem and prevents serious damage to your property.

Don’t let this…

Plumbing leaks can happen anytime day or night, whether you are home or away. Imagine the equivalent of a garden hose running full blast inside your home for hours or even days undetected.

A burst water pipe can cause major damage in a short time if not caught and stopped immediately.

…lead to this

The video below is one I’ll never forget; me walking through standing water in my house on March 15. It happened to us – and it can happen to you.

Water damage or freezing was the second most frequent home insurance claim from 2016 to 2020 according to the Insurance Information Institute.  Nearly 20% of home insurance claims were attributed to water damage and freezing in 2020 with an average claim of $11,650.

In all likelihood your house or someone in your neighborhood has suffered water damage. 1 in 60 insured homes filed a water damage claim from 2016 to 2020.

It is five times more likely that a property will be damaged by water than theft, and seven times more likely than fire.

Me walking thru water at my house March 15.

With a Water Leak Alerts system installed, as soon as the system detects water it can automatically shut off your main water in 30 seconds.

PROTECT WHAT MATTERS

OUR SYSTEMS

Our water detection systems do two things. When water is detected, you will be alerted on your phone.  If you have a valve system, the water will automatically be turned off within seconds – keeping a small problem…a small problem.

At the heart of our system is our custom developed app.   We designed the software with three things in mind. First, to alert you with a warning when any sensor in our system detects danger.  Second, to give you all the information you need with a glance at one screen.  And finally, to allow you to turn your water on or off from anywhere you have internet.  We marry our software with the best detection/control hardware available.  The result is the easiest to use, most complete, integrated system available.

HOW IT WORKS

Sensors are placed where water is most likely to leak such as bathrooms, kitchen, dishwasher, ice maker, laundry, water heater and sump pump. These make up your so-called “soft plumbing” areas.  They are responsible for the vast majority of water leak damage claims.

If a sensor detects even a few drops of water you are alerted on your phone immediately.  Optionally, for our “Shutoff” systems the the main water valve is automatically turned off within seconds whether you are home or not, whether your WiFi is working or not, even if the power is off.

Our SI systems come pre-configured, programmed, plug & play ready for simple DIY installation and can be installed with no plumbing or electrical work required.

For our PI systems we offer complete installation in your home or business as well. We use our expertise to completely solve your problem.

With all of our systems you own the equipment completely with a one time purchase. There are no subscription requirements. Professional monitoring is available as an option.

The cost of our systems in most cases is less than your insurance deductible and you may qualify for reduced insurance premiums (check with your agent).

SI SENTRY 3
 EZ DIY  - NO TOOLS

A 24/7 Sentry that can notify you of a water leak, a furnace failure, a sump pump failure, or a freezer failure!

  • Water/temperature sensor
The water sensor/temp sensor is typically placed on the floor near a water heater, toilet, laundry machine, or under a sink. In addition to sensing water it warns of cold temperatures before pipes can freeze. In addition to alerting you on your phone it has a built-in siren.
  • Sump Pump sensor
This is a float sensor. If the level in your sump pit gets too high it will alert you. In addition to alerting you on your phone it has a built-in siren.
  • Freezer/temperature sensor
Place directly in your freezer. Alerts you to a problem if the temperature rises in the freezer - before - your food spoils.

Kit includes three professional grade pre-programmed LoRa long-range sensors, an easy-to-use pre-configured app for your mobile phone, and a hub. If a sensor detects an event you will immediately be alerted on your phone, sent a text, and an email.

With this system you can choose to mix and match among water leak/temperature sensors, a sump pump sensor or a freezer alert sensor.

It's as simple to use as 1-2-3.  Just plug in the hub, place the sensors where you want them, and download the app.

SI Shutoff-9
Pre-progammed DIY Install

Pre-configured and programmed. Professional grade LoRa long-range sensors. Ready for simple DIY installation. No plumbing or electrical required.*  Easy to follow video instructions.

In the event a leak is detected from any sensor, you will immediately receive an alert notifying you of the exact sensor location of the leak. The system will then automatically shut off the water main valve within 30 seconds.

Includes a motorized valve with controller to automatically shut off your water main, a hub, an app for your mobile phone and 9  sensors. Sensors are placed in "soft plumbing" areas where 90% of leaks occur.

This package is suitable for a 2 bathroom house and includes:

  • 3 sensors for your kitchen (sink, refrigerator, dishwasher)
  • 1 sensor for laundry room
  • 1 sensor for water heater
  • 4 sensors for two single sink bathrooms (1 for each sink, 1 for each toilet/bidet)

The controller and sensors use lithium batteries with a life expectancy of up to 10 years.  If water is detected the system will shut off the water valve even if the power is out, even if the internet is out.

You have the option of two different valve types. A valve operator (type I) or a plumbed in ball valve (type II). The type I operator uses your existing valve. You remove your handle and replace it with the valve operator. This requires you to have an existing smooth working ball valve (a 'handle' rather than round knob). Most houses built in the last 30 years have a ball valve. Older homes may have a ball valve if the valve has been replaced at some point). No additional plumbing is required for this type of valve.

The second type is a plumbed in ball valve which can be installed in addition to (and independent of) your current main shutoff valve.

1 sensor for clothes washer
1 sensor for water heater.
1 sensor for each sink not listed above (ex a utility room sink).

St. Patrick's Day Flood

It was Sunday, March 15 at 9:30 at night. We had just got home from a fun weekend trip celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at Lake Of The Ozarks.

Hot August Night

On a hot August night my wife and I left the house around 6pm and went out for dinner and a few errands. We returned home shortly after 9pm.

I opened the front door and there was standing water in our entryway. That moment takes away your breath. We stopped cold. You could hear what sounded like a garden hose running.

Memorial Day Mess

Memorial Day of 2020. The middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. On a normal year we would have opened our vacation place for the season by now and been spending weekends at the Lake Of The Ozarks. But…
